Selected Reviews:

"Sinsabaugh's artwork shows considerable diversity. One day he might be painting a realistic watercolor of a rose, romantic enough to find its way onto the front of a greeting card. These botanical studies have brought him the biggest success among Cincinnati art buyers. But he downplays the studies as "exercises I enjoy". The principle focus in his work is his abstract paintings. They come out of Abstract Expressionism in that the work features great gestural sweeps of the brush suggesting swirling forms in an airborne dance. In darker moods, his paintings come with streaks of colors colliding and intersecting. The abstract paintings, which date from 1992, reflect the views Sinsabaugh has had flying about 30,000 feet above the earth." (Cincinnati Post, March 1992) "Many of his paintings depict the elements of landscapes–clouds, rocks, plants and water. But they are transformed into kaleidoscopic visions. In Earth, Wind, Water, clouds look as if they are being viewed from space through a veil of earth-toned colors. Sinsabaugh has done several paintings of Indian petroglyphs and even invented an overlay technique for rendering the petroglyphs." (The Advocate, July 2000) "In Hohokam/Mogollon Triptych, the painting depicts a man with upraised arms next to a cross inside a circle surrounded by dots. Is the circle a clock? A sundial? Is the scene the universe, with man at the center? Man questioning his place in the universe? Obviously, these are not simply pictures, but symbols, and the symbols create questions in the mind and draw the viewer into the story of the painting." (Granville Sentinel, April 2004)
